I have been writing like a MAD man! I went to FedEx during my down time at work yesterday and used their computer and finished the rough draft of story # 4. Then this morning I wrote the entire rough draft of story # 5. No doubt I have to go back and go over each of these stories with a fine toothed comb. But I am excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I found an editor that is reviewing my first story. Her website is www.artfuleditor.com and I am hoping she has reasonable rates.

Days 4 and 5
Day 4 I worked a 15 hours day - so I had zero time to write. Today (Day 5) I actually got up at 4 am to find some time to write. My brother game me some feedback on story #2, which he was heavily involved in. I took his advice and I am now about 90 percent done with story #2. I called two book editors that I found online, both said they could not give me a quote since I did not have my book finished and they had no idea how much editing work my writing would need. I have a feeling these two editors will be in the $1,000 to $1,500 range - which is way out of my budget. I may look to elance.com to find a quality editor with a lower fee. I also called a local photography studio to get a price for my cover photo. (I am going to be on the cover.) I got a quote of between $75 and $125 for a full body photo in studio shot of me on a white or green screen background. I will get all of the rights to the photo.

Day 3
After finishing story number one, I sent it over to my best friend in Connecticut to review it and give me some feedback. He's supposed to call me tommorow with his input. I started story number two today - I am about halfway finished with the story. (rough draft) This story is the only one that took place when I was young. (Age 14) It involves a major league baseball player on a World Series winning team. My brother was heavily involved in this story, so I sent the rough draft to him so he can tell me what he recalls took place back then. After all, it has been roughly 25 years! This story needs much more attention than story # 1. I have to work tonight, so I won't be able to write much more today. Also, I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old at home - so finding time to write is nearly impossible. Anonymous Author for Now
Day 2
I actually wrote one of my stories last night in full. It took a while, but the general story is complete. I have seven stories that I plan on writing for the book. It is obvious that I will need a good editor to help me. I need help with sentence structure and I am sure I have some flagrant grammatical errors. This first story is going to be the one that is available for folks to read free as a sample of my book on Amazon. I was trying to make it as compelling as possible without embellishing the story. Like I mentioned before, these are all real accounts of situations that have taken place in my life. I'd like to make them as interesting as possible with out any false statements, maybe just a little "fluff". Today I may start story #2 - which is the only celebrity story that took place when I was young - 14 years old actually. I am saving my best story for the final chapter of the book. I can't wait till I am writing that! Anonymous Author for Now

Day 1
Ok, here we go. I am about to start writing my first book for Kindle. I have these various situations and stories that have taken place in my life that all involve some major celebrities and sports stars. I want to take all of these situations and create a book of short stories. I have had this book in my mind for a few years now, but I never actually considered writing it. THEN I read JA Konrath's blog: A Newbie's Guide to Publishing. Let me tell you, this is the most motivation I have ever had concerning writing. When I read some of the success stories and saw the actual earnings figures people were making with just a few self-published Kindle books - I was in! I decided to chronicle my journey from the first day of writing and throughout the life of this book. I have never published anything on Kindle my writing experience stems from places like eHow, Constant Content, etc.
So here we go. I will be withholding exact details about my book until it is actually published, but once it is live on the Kindle store I will be giving samples of my sales figures by using actual screen shots from my Kindle account. (Assuming there are any sales!) i will also chronicle my process of hiring an editor, getting cover art created and converting the book to Kindle format. So here we go, it's April 17th, 2011 and as soon as I close this post I will be putting my first words down. Come and join me on "The Great Kindle Experiment"
